What is Health & Medical Insurance?
Private health insurance enables you to have your scans and be treated in hospital as a private patient and bypass the waiting list, so you will be seen sooner rather than later. It can also help pay for health care costs unrelated to the cost of accidents which are covered for all New Zealanders by ACC.
Medical Cover pays for the treatment of non-acute (Non emergency) medical conditions.
This includes the medical costs of any surgical or non-surgical treatment in a private hospital and any scans and associated tests. While New Zealand has an established public health system there are limitations to what it provides. For other health problems you may remain on a waiting list. With private medical insurance you can have peace of mind knowing you will get treated as soon as possible.
